It is very easy to send information from the TPS to the R&V system. Ideally, there should be a universal 'language' to describe factors such as field size, number, monitor units and MLC positions (etc etc). If not then this information must be converted between the TPS to the R&V system. This is done by a computer but must be checked to ensure no errors have occurred.
This is usually done by a therapist manually checking (sometimes with the aid of an independent piece of software) monitor unit calculations. The data between the TPS and R&V systems are also checked and ensured to be correct.
