15: Applied External Photon Beam Radiotherapy

Newer technologies have developed for external beam radiotherapy over the past 20-30 years, including 3D conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, IGRT, and stereotactic radiotherapy/radiosurgery. Other rare techniques are not covered in the Phase I curriculum, such as total body irradiation. As a consultant radiation oncologist, doctors need to understand the principles and appliactions of all these treatments.

Topics

15.1: Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

15.2: Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)

15.3: Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)

15.4: Total Body Irradiation

15.5: Stereotactic Radiotherapy
