b) Desmoid-type Fibromatosis
Treatment of peripheral desmoid tumours
Surgical excision may be curative but to achieve positive margins extensive and deforming surgery may be necessary. Radiotherapy is often used in the adjuvant setting to improve local control. A dose of 50 Gy in 25 fractions is the minimum required, but improves local control significantly.
