L: Paediatrics
Paediatric malignancies became an important cause of childhood death throughout the 20th century as other diseases were eradicated due to immunisation, improved education and improved sanitation. The improved outcomes for paediatric patients has also led to the development of new problems in survivors of childhood cancers. Each childhood malignancy requires special consideration and will be covered below in sections relating to the WHO pathological class.
