d) Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis
Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (frequently named "Histiocytosis X") is an uncommon disorder due to a clonal proliferation of disordered dendritic cells. Its malignant potential lies somewhere between true haematological malignancy and a reactive immunologic disorder[1]. Much of the damage caused by LCH is due to concurrent infiltration of tissues by a host of other inflammatory cells such as eosinophils. Radiotherapy plays an important though lessening role in the management of this disorder.
