b) Ewing Sarcoma/Peripheral Neuroectodermal Tumour (PNET)
Ewing sarcoma and PNET have been recognised a single pathological entity. They are linked by the common chromosomal translocation of the EWS gene (chromosome 22) and another gene (typically the FLI1 gene on chromosome 11, 85% of cases). This chimeric gene is thought to have oncogenic activity.
