C: Head And Neck
The head and neck contains numerous epithelial surfaces and exocrine glands which can give rise to several malignancies. Although head and neck cancers are relatively uncommon, surgical intervention is disfiguring whereas radiation therapy can spare the normal structure (and occasionally function) of the tissues. Therefore radiotherapy plays a major role in the treatment of cancers in this region.
