1: Glioma

Gliomas are uncommon but the most common form (glioblastoma) has a very poor prognosis. Radiotherapy plays an important role in the management of glioblastoma and it is a relatively common reason for referral in the hospital system. The other commonly seen gliomas are lower grade astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma and oligoastrocytoma. Ependymoma is more common in children but also counts as a glial tumour.
