3: Lung
The lungs are the paired organs of respiration. Due to ongoing smoking in the population, lung cancer remains one of the most common cancers diagnosed in humans. The difficulty in treatment of lung cancer means that it is the most common cause of cancer related death. Part of the difficulty in treatment of lung malignancies is their essential role in respiration as well as their relationship to numerous other critical structures.
