k) XI: Spinal Accessory Nerve
The spinal accessory nerve arises as six roots from the cervical spinal cord. It ascends rostrally through the foramen magnum. Within the posterior fossa, it passes anteriorly and laterally and exits through the jugular foramen with the vein, glossopharyngeal and vagus nerves.
